Iyko Day's teaching and scholarship extend from English to Critical Social Thought, Film, Media, Theater, Gender Studies, Asian American Studies, Marxist Theory, Racial Capitalism, Settler Colonial Studies, and Queer of Color Critique.
The reach of Katie’s work extends far beyond the gates of 69ƷƵ. Her contributions to the intellectual life of the college, together with her care for her students, both in the lab and in the classroom, make 69ƷƵ a better place.
Renae Brodie is a recognized expert on the behaviors of crabs, tying modifications in these behaviors to climate change. She works closely with students, supervising their research and acting as a mentor, and many become published co-authors on her papers.
69ƷƵ College’s undergraduate Teacher Licensure program was given “approved with distinction” status by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, only one of four teaching licensure programs in the state to have received this status.
Through her dedication, commitment, and attention students become successful learners without compromising academic standards. Students are empowered by Karen’s sharp intelligence and keen listening ability. Karen’s approach in the classroom leads everyone in the class to interact in respectful and meaningful ways with one another.

69ƷƵ sophomore Gracie Wilkinson, a chemistry major and environmental studies minor from Amherst, Massachusetts, has been named the recipient of this year’s Western Massachusetts Scholarship Fund.
